Designing a custom hockey jersey: the parts that matter
Yokes, laces, neck inserts, matching socks and pant shells: what to think about when you design your team's hockey jerseys.
A hockey jersey has more parts than most uniforms, and each one is a chance to make it look like a pro's. Here's what to look at when you design one.
The shoulder yoke
The panel across the shoulders. A contrast yoke, or stripes along its edge, is one of the most recognizable looks in hockey. On our Modern hockey jersey you can also put a number on each shoulder, turned so it reads from the side.
The neck
Choose between a V-neck and the Modern jersey's neck insert, and add a lace-up collar: criss-cross and tied, three bars or a single cross, in your own lace and eyelet colors.
Sleeve and hem stripes
Bands round the arms and the hem tie the jersey together. Keep them in your team colors and match them on the socks so the whole uniform reads as one.
Socks and pant shells
Our hockey designs come on the jersey, the socks and the pant shell, so the stripes on all three match. Add them as extras in the Studio, one per player.
Captains and goalies
Add a C or an A for each captain and alternate. Goalies can order a goalie cut, a roomier jersey for the chest protector, in their own size.
The fabric
The Modern hockey jersey has ventilated underarms and perforated shoulders, made for a game played hot. Zoom in on the Studio's 3D jersey to see the knit up close.
