The team uniform ordering checklist
Everything to have ready before you order uniforms for a team, so the jerseys arrive right the first time and on time.
Most uniform problems start before anything is made: a missing size, a misspelled name, a date nobody checked. Run through this list before you order and you'll avoid nearly all of them.
1. Your date, counted back
Start with the day the team needs to wear them, not the day you want to order. Count back the time to design and approve a proof, the time to make them, and a few days for shipping. Sublimated jerseys made in the USA take about 2–3 weeks after you approve the design; made overseas, about 3–4 weeks; Elite and Pro, with sewn-on names and numbers, about 5–6 weeks.
2. A roster with every size
List every player with their size, the name for the back and their number. Sizes are the most common thing to chase at the last minute, so collect them first. If players wear a different size in different pieces (a big jersey and small pant shells, say), note it: each player can have their own size in each product.
3. Names exactly as you want them printed
We print names exactly as they're typed. If you put "JOHN SMITH", the back of the jersey will say "JOHN SMITH". Check spelling, capitals and spaces, and decide as a team whether it's first names, last names or initials.
4. Numbers checked for doubles
Two players with the same number happens more often than you'd think, especially when players pick their own. Look down the list once before you order.
5. Your logo, as big as you can get it
Vector art prints sharpest: an SVG in the Studio, or the .ai, .eps or .pdf file your logo was made in if a designer is doing the design. If all you have is a picture, find the biggest version you can: a small logo pulled from a website can print blurry on a chest.
6. Captains
On hockey, lacrosse and football uniforms you can add a captain's C or an alternate's A for each player. Decide who wears them before you order.
7. Where it ships
A street address someone will be at, and a name and phone number for the delivery. A school's front office or a coach's home both work.
